Comprehensive Calculator Guide
When flatmates share a home, an equal split is not always fair: whoever has the biggest room gets more space. This calculator splits monthly or yearly rent by the size of each person's room and shows the equal split for comparison. SAR 4,500 across rooms of 16, 12 and 10 m² comes to 1,894.74, 1,421.05 and 1,184.21.
Splitting by room size
Each room's share of the rent equals its share of the total private floor area; shared spaces are implicitly split in the same proportion.
If one room has extras such as its own bathroom, agree a premium, take it off the rent before splitting, and add it back to that room's share.
How to Use
- 01Enter the rent as you pay it, monthly or yearly.
- 02Enter each room's size in m²; leave the third empty for two people.
- 03Read each share and the equal split.
Formula Used
Share = rent × room area ÷ total room areaPractical Examples
