Comprehensive Calculator Guide
This calculator tells you when a full Hijri year (hawl) passes on your wealth — when zakat falls due — from the day it reached the nisab. Wealth that reached the nisab on 1 Ramadan 1447 (18 February 2026) completes its year on 1 Ramadan 1448, 8 February 2027, after 355 days. It shows both calendars on Umm al-Qura, the days left and the coming years’ dates.
The zakat year and a fixed date
Zakat on money, gold, silver, trade goods and livestock is due once a Hijri year (354 or 355 days) passes with the wealth above the nisab. Most scholars hold that if it drops below during the year, the year restarts; crops are due at harvest instead.
Many choose one fixed date, such as 1 Ramadan, for all their wealth — an approach many scholars accept. For those who count in Gregorian years, some Sharia bodies advise 2.577% rather than 2.5%.
How to Use
- Enter the day your wealth reached the nisab, or the day you last paid zakat.
- Leave it empty if that’s today.
- Press “Find the date” to see the due date in both calendars, the days left and future dates.
Formula Used
Due date = the same Hijri day and month in the next Hijri year (Umm al-Qura), 354 or 355 days later
