Comprehensive Calculator Guide
This calculator works out an average star rating out of 5 from how many reviews gave each star, as stores, apps and Google Maps show it, with the positive share and the five-star reviews needed to lift the average. 120, 40, 15, 5 and 20 reviews for 5 to 1 stars average 4.18 from 200.
Star averages
Multiply each star by its count, add and divide by the total: a weighted mean. Low ratings weigh more than their number suggests; fixing complaints often helps more than chasing new reviews. Look at the count as well as the average.
How to Use
- Enter the count for each star.
- Zero is fine.
- Press “Calculate” to see the average and the positive share.
Formula Used
