Comprehensive Calculator Guide
This calculator shows what inflation does to your salary’s buying power: what you’d need to earn in some years to live the same way, and what today’s salary will be worth then. SAR 10,000 with 2% yearly inflation needs to become SAR 11,040.81 in five years; if it stays put, it buys only what SAR 9,057 buys today.
Why pay loses value
Prices compound: at 2% a year, 100 becomes 102, then 104.04, then 106.12. That’s why five years need a 10.4% raise, not 10%, just to stand still. A raise is only real to the extent it beats inflation.
Saudi inflation ran at roughly 1.5–2.5% a year in 2022–2024 according to GASTAT, though rents rose faster. Try two or three rates to see the range.
