Comprehensive Calculator Guide
This calculator answers a common question when negotiating a job in Saudi Arabia: what gross salary leaves me a given net after GOSI deductions? A Saudi employee wanting SAR 9,000 net, including a SAR 1,000 transport allowance, needs SAR 9,864.27 gross: basic and housing of 8,864.27, from which 864.27 is deducted. The SAR 45,000 contribution cap is applied.
What’s deducted and how we work back
Saudi private-sector employees pay 9.75% of contributory pay — basic plus housing, capped at SAR 45,000 a month: 9% for pensions and 0.75% for SANED. Transport and other allowances aren’t deducted from. Non-Saudi employees pay nothing; enter 0. Rates can change, so check your payslip.
We subtract non-contributory allowances from the net, divide by (1 − rate) to get contributory pay, then add the allowances back. Above the cap the deduction is fixed at SAR 4,387.5.
How to Use
- Enter the net monthly pay you want.
- Enter allowances not deducted from, such as transport, and the deduction rate (9.75% Saudi, 0 otherwise).
- Press “Work out the gross” to see the gross salary, basic and housing, and the deduction.
Formula Used
Contributory pay = (net − other allowances) ÷ (1 − rate), up to SAR 45,000 | Gross = contributory pay + allowances
Practical Examples

Important Tips
